Better choice 502 or 350?

I would go 350. Spend the extra cash that you get on Fuel injection kit and extra parts. You could have another 350 just with the cash. I was looking at the Summit catolog yesterday and was doing some mental figureing. If I had the money for the GM Performance 454 ($4900), I would buy a $1400 crate motor, add Alum. heads and F.I. That would give more than enough power, the ability to run at extreme angles + cost less.

personally, I wouldn't run a th350 behind a 502. The th400 is cheap to rebuild and a heck of a lot stronger. GM didn't put them behind 454s/desiels just for fun.

After I read some of the forums i see that Ford is a four letter word. My first car was a 73 impala, then a 73 camaro. I got stuck with fords for years but it is hard to beat a chevy engine. I have discontinued all ford dealings and I will only devote my time to the K5. This site has got me excited especially when i see your pics and videos. Thanks for all the advice.

Well, I did the exact same swap you are talking about. I bought the 502 Ram Jet.....I put it in my '72. I would recommend going with 1-Ton Drivetrain. I am running 350 Tranny with a Shift Kit...no problems there....yet, NP205--D60 and 14FF. I would also recommend getting an O2 Sensow kit for it, These engines run exteremely rich, since it is a Marine motor. I bought Hooker Headers for my Application, because of how narrow the Framerails are, also had to do a little rearranging of the Firewall on Drivers side to get the V.C. to clear (3" Body Lift also--definite bonus). Let me know if I can answer any Questions for you.....Good Luck.

Wow Jimmy glad i heard from you. I dont have a injection system but i do have a dual quad high rise with about 12 inch risers. I do have access to some military stuff for the drive train.
How does it handle on the road? I was not sure if it would have too much weight up front. I already have a small lift on it, maybe 4 inches and 33 tires.
