I am looking to install lights around my back bumper area and behind my grill up front. I want the light to be bright so if I need the light I have it. I don't go off roading to much. What are some good lights? I'm on summit Racing looking around and there so much to choose from.
Thanks
Adam

I have 8" KCs on my front bumper and cheapo Discount auto 100watts behind my grill. Unless you spend some bux on PIAA and such, Id jus go with what fits. Jus make sure to wire it up properly with Relays and such.

Ive also got some lights in the back , by the rear shackles for backing up.

I got these cheapo lights. They cost me like $30 for everything (apperently I didnt have any wire in my garage:doah:) and, they are bright, and the tuck up really nice, the buttom of them is even with the bottom of the hitch.

I went ahead and found my old grill that had the lights I told you guys about in the first post and took them off (glade I did there would be going to the scrap yard today). I will be either putting all four up front or maby just two. I will check around napa and walmart.
Thanks

I got them from a vendor on here. It was BLAZEN OFF ROAD I believe. I got the bolt in ones. So far they are working out great. They can suppose the weight of the truck, etc.

Look on egay, I bought two sets of name brand lights for 14$ shipped. There are lots and lots of lights on there, and many have wiring kits along with the lights.

I got a pair of 100w offroad lights at harbor freight for $16, stuck in a relay for about $4, and they work great. if i do break them, i'm only out $16.

on the rear, i have a pair of 55w driving lights that i "inherited" from one of my dad's cars when it died. i mounted them on my rear rollbar, but most people don't have that option. i usually have the top off, but with it on, i either roll the window down a few inches for just let the lights shine through it, which works fine. I used a relay and a 3-position switch so that i can have them always on, only on in reverse, or always off. they serve as great loading/work lights, too.

Does anyone have a detail write up or somepics of how you mount lights behind the grille?

I was thinking about that for the K5 cause 4 lights on the bumper/pushbar looks kinda weird.

Once I get my k5 back from the shop (inspection) I am going to make a custom mounts for 4 lights behind my grill. So I should have pics up by Christmas....I hope.
Thanks

I am in the process of trying to mount 2 KC Daylighters behind my grill. Just need to drill the holes and run the wiring. I am using angle iron and bolting it to the radiator support. I am setting it up so that they sit centered, and up as close to the grill as possible.

Wouldnt that start melting the grille, I thought daylighters got pretty warm.

BTY, pictures are good.:D

Could someone explain the relays, I thought you only use them if you want the lights to go off with the factory brights or something like that.

Cause I only got my rev. lights wired up to the battery with a fuse link, then into the switch.

I don't know.... They won't be touching the grill.

As far as pictures, you'll have to wait until daylight. ;) And I'll post them in my build thread.

I think I understand what its saying. You can use heavier wire which means brighter lights. The only thing is i want the lights to go on when I am parked somewhere. They are nice when you at a bon fire and you gotta see something.
