Bought a set of bolts off a company on eBay (user id Boltlocker, web www.boltlocker.com), I wouldn't buy from again.
His kits are a total mismatch of misc. parts. I had the wrong diameter intake bolts, carb bolts were for aftermarket Holley not a stock qjet,, valve cover bolts won't fit (wrong head type).
When I nicly emailed him with the issues, he writes back basically calling me a liar and that I'm not being reasonable. I'm like, hey, just pointing out the bolts that I can't use because they don't fit! He did refund though, but I had to eat return shipping which kinda of ticks me off, but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye and crappy bolt kit.
I'd steer clear of this guy and his kits!
Attached is the text of the email conversation (start at the bottom).

Mark your receipt " Return for Refund"
Failure to do so will only delay the refund. The kit must be returned in the condition in which it was sent or you will be responsible for a 30% repacking and restocking fee. This is non- negotiable
The fact of the matter is that you claim that it will not work for your application, so I am refunding your money plain and simple.
Send the kit back, receive your refund... done deal.
I'm sorry that this kit will not fit your application as it does for hundreds of others. To hold any further conversation in this matter will serve no purpose, nor will it provide change of position.

I'll return the kit. Thank you. Please send me the proper return address and any other information required to return. (Return authorization number, etc.)
Really, I'm not complaing, just noting the fasteners that simply I cannot use. But since you take issue with me kindly noting what is wrong, I guess now I will complain.
I told you I didn't care about the header bolts or the "too many" intake bolts, the intake bolts are a problem because they are the WRONG DIAMETER. I'm not making this stuff up. Normally, I'm pretty easy to deal with too. Look at my feedback, 100%. I was just noting the bolts that were incorrect for bone stock my 4.3l. As far as Carbs go, most people I know in the 4x4 world, stick with the bone stock Q-Jet, if your kit is for aftermarket holleys, then it should state that. If it's for a TBI setup, it should state that, by the way, your bolts are still wrong for a factory TBI setup, they are right, however, as you mention, for an aftermarket Holley carb.
I have a REAL hard time to believe anyone could put together a 4.3l V6 engine with these bolts, like you say, over half of them are incorrect. What you say about the stud bolt is wrong as well, I can go to my local hardware store and buy them. Or the local auto parts store, and I live in a small town. If your kit is for building an aftermarket performer, mabey these bolts fit all the aftermarket stuff, but they certianly don't fit my stock 4.3l, period. As stated before, I was willing to eat the header bolts because you specifically stated "aftermarket headers", but what about the intake bolts being the wrong diameter? I know you say hex head, but I kinda of figured since the stock center bolt valve covers on 4.3l engines have indented countersunk holes for the bolt head, impossible to use a hex bolt, I figured the kit would come with the proper bolt. The only aftermaket valve covers I've seen for 4.3l V6 are perimiter style, and those covers need a much shorter bolt than what you supplied, frankly, I don't know what this valve cover bolt fit, besides a chevy 350 center bolt cover.
Out of 200+ transactions on eBay, this is the first time I've ever had to return something.

Kenneth J. Snyder

> I'm sorry that you are dissapointed in what you received, but I refuse to believe that ALL of the things that you seem to think are wrong are actually wrong since none of the machine shops have run into any problems. First, You seem to be complaining that you have TOO AMNY intake bolts. You received 12 because some require 8 some require 12. But this seems to be a problem for you. The "Header "Bolts" are for aftermarket headers, not Tublar Exhaust Manifolds... There is a difference. The bolts supplied will fit up to 3/8" thick flanges. To the best of my knowledge, there are no "Header Manufacturers that use any flanges thicker than this. The listing says Aftermarket headers, thats all.

If this were the only or one of the few issues you had, I would easily send bolts for the Rochester Carb. Honestly, I was not even aware that the factory still offered the rochester computer controlled carb as standard equipment.

But since you seem to think that you need to have over 1/2 of the kit replaced, I do not feel doing this is going to settle the situation. I also do not feel that what you seem to find as a problem with the kit is actually a valid problem with the kit.
