I didn’t know you guys had that in California.
I thought it was just a southern thing.

California has poison oak, but not poison ivy. for poison oak, I dry it out with a hair dryer which feels great – and then I put corticosteroid on it.

In Eastern Europe, there's a stinging nettle that hurts worse than poison oak but only lasts a day...

We have the stinging nettle here, my is from eastern Europe and she eats that stuff and also drinks it as a tea

The stinging nettles around here only sting you if you touch the stems. The leaves are fine, and they do make a good green tea. Supposedly good for you, too. :waytogo:

Well that first ride wasn’t as much fun as I thought it would be. I took 2 spills compared to 3 in 13 years of road cycling.
Oh well. Learning curve I guess.

that's a sweet ride! And I suppose the blazers pretty cool too..
Lol only 2? It's all part of the fun!

I struggled too with what feels like much shorter crank arms than my road bike. Long legs and power were always my advantage. I usually road about an 80 cadence on the road. I am struggling to make power with these short pedal strokes.
It’s like everything that made me a decent road cyclist has been taken away.

I’ve been doing a little research.
Apparently there are 2 schools of thought on crank arm length.
One thought is longer for mountain bikes and shorter for road bikes.
The other is longer for 6’ or taller people (me) and shorter for shorter people.
Either way this being a large frame bike should have come with longer crank arms.
On this bike I measured 6 5/8” which converts to 168.275 mm.
My road bike measures 7” which converts to 177.8
I’ll be calling the bike shop in the morning.
This isn’t going to work for me.

I am constantly hitting the ground with my crank arms on my stump jumper. Any time Im aggressively pedaling up hill or trying to pick up speed in a technical section I am whacking the ground.

That’s what I was worried about.
I wondered if the crank arms were short because the geometry of the bike doesn’t allow room for longer ones for ground clearance.
What size bike are you riding?
