Big 10

Has anyone here ever seen a Chevy Big 10 or GMC Heavy Half 4x4? I'm sure they made them but I've never seen one and wasn't alive for the three years they were made? Apparently they only made them 78,79,80 or 77,78,79?

I've seen one, but who knows if it was the original bed or not. It was parked next to an old barn and looked like it had been there for quite a while.
Oh, it was a Big 10

I've seen a lot of two wheel long bed trucks and even short beds but never a four by.

I am pretty sure it was for 2wds only. I was told it upped the gvw to allow no converter on the early trucks.

One of my parents neighbors has a C10 Big 10 its rusted all to hell and they still want $1400 for it.

It's a 5/8 ton truck. A light duty 3/4 ton or heavy duty 1/2 ton. Higher GVW. (or so I've been told)

My Dad had a brand new 1981 Big 10. It got named "old blue" by us when it was about 10 years old. I think it was $7K 1981 dollars, then he sold it for $1900 in about 1992 or so, it lived for another 10 years as a farm truck.

I used to see a few driving around when I lived in eastern NY state as a kid! That was when they were only a few years old though so, those ones are probably not around any more due to rust!
