most of the wiring upgrade is complete. The question I have for the alternator power wire which looks like at best to be a 12awg wire, it going up into the wiring harness on my 86 k5 and not directly to the battery. So the question is when I and my larger cable at minimu 4awg from the alternator out put termal to the positive on the battery, What do I do with the old 12awg wire? Leave it off or land it also?

thanks

Pretty sure the 10ga wire off the back stud of the alternator goes to the terminal block on the firewall then from there down to the starter. To answer your question you should replace the wire entirely with the larger 4ga.

no just leave the wire on the stud. run your 4g from hot alt stud to battery.
and dont forget the grounds. neg bat to frame. I also did neg from battery
to a bolt on the case of alt.
