big block cooling hose routing question

why do big blocks have a hose running from the intake down to the waterpump? do i NEED this hose? the problem is that i cant get a durn hose to line up without kinking or making me not like how it looks

Its a bypass hose, not 100 percent necessary, but I always run it.
Its a molded hose. You cant bend your own....
Ask how I know.

Like was already said it is a molded hose. If the parts store doesn't have the hose then have them find any water hose of the proper diameter (3/4" IIRC) that has a molded shape like the one you need and cut it to fit.
