im going to be putting together a 454, may put in a stroker crank. but im building this motor for my crewcab 71 chevy 3/4 4x4 with 40" tires and a overdrive auto. and im looking at build this mtor into a very high torque pulling motor, to get toys out to the dunes. but i want alot of power and would like to keep the mpg good. any sites to find what part to use or any ideas. hanks

lots of power and good MPG, then you can't use a carburated BBC.

I've got a caillies forged stroker crank coming for my 454. you can sure build it into a 496 with tons of torque but mileage is going to suck hard.

im planning on doing a multiport, holley or edelbrock system. and as far as mpg goes just trying get as good as it can get. im thinking of running a turbo as well, instead of a supercharger.
