A friend had the pulley come off the harmonic balancer, break the water pump shaft, and send the fan into the radiator on his 454.He can get another water pump and radiator easy enough but he can't find the pulleys. We looked through 2 junk yards but couldn't find another 454 but some 350's had pulleys that look close. Any big block guys out there know if they will fit? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif
thanks

The real main difference between SBC and BBC pulley's are the center hole for the centering/locating point. BBC's use a much larger centering/locating area than a SBC.

So do you think it would fit if we drilled the center larger or would the bolt holes be off a little also?

thanks
Bob

No, the center is actually sticking out into the balancer, as a guide/center to center the pulley. Your best bet is to go to a Chevy Dealer, and just buy new, straight pulley's from the get go. Their cheap! it's the bracket's for A.C., Alt, an P.S. that they really nail you for. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The GM dealer has priced over $100 so that why we're looking for a cheaper scource.
Now for the water pump pulley, are THEY the same?
Thanks for the replies
