will a bick block radiator fit in the stock location on my 87 k5? my stock radiator didnt cut it when it didnt leak.

They won't just bolt in, you need a new shroud and the correct mounting brackets.

If your old one was used, then that may have been the problem, not the size.

What's the size of a big block radiator? The one for a diesel is pretty big, 4 core, 39"x23" IIRC

the big block radiator im gonna put in is 34'x21'x3'

Wow, thirty four feet wide? That's a big radiator :haha:

More seriously, is this one used, or new? Replacing one used radiator with another that won't fit is prolly not worth the time and effort... especially when you can get a new one, correct for your truck, that will fit easily, for maybe $100-150.

You'll also need to grab the rubber isolators from the donor truck. Don't forget the ones on the bottom!

would brackets from a big block k-truck swap over?
the core support is drilled and tapped for the 454 radiator. Have one in my 85 blazer. You will need the top braket for the big block and the shroud. the passenger side is held by the top braket and the drivers side is held by a larger isolater. you will need new isolaters for the bottom. if you need will post pics tomorrow.

Im getttin ready to swap engines

Sorry to hijack, but I am getting ready to drop a 454 in my blazer and any info would be great.. I have the whole donor vehicle... End Hijack..

What's "almost new"?

You can REALLY screw yourself with used radiators. The ONLY way to tell if they will work as they should (and it still doesn't prove they won't leak sometime soon) is to have them flow tested, unless it is coming out of a truck you KNOW it cooled well.

I made that mistake one time, and it's the last time I ever assume a used radiator is good by looking at it or taking someones word.

heres some pics of a big block slid in where a 305 came out.

i didnt put it in there but i can tell you i dont like how they did the cross member/motor mounts. i am going to be changing the cross member out for an aftermarket one.
