biggest wheel/tire combo?

If I could run a 305/70 on a 10" wide rim w/o rubbing I would but I feel like I can run a 285 and get away with it.
 
Buddy of mine has 33s on his stock with no rubbing, Im going to do a 1 inch body lift with 33s just in case
 
but wat are the width specs on his wheels and tires? ... 285's are like a 32.8x11.2
