I have a 1972 K5. 6in. skyjacker lift, Custom leaf springs and rancho 9000 shocks. All this was done by the P/O about 15 years ago. It's pretty much sat in a shop most of that time. Only 5K miles since then. I am planning on ordering Bilstein 5100. I measured the shocks. Do these measurements seem about right for a 6in. lift? I want to make sure I order the right shock lengths for my truck. Also right now I have a crate 350. Here in about a month my buddy and I will be installing a 02 LS motor. Not sure if that makes a difference.

19 1/2 ride height front
18 compressed rear
29 extended rear
22 ride height rear

Thank you Bent77. I have been emailing Kurt with them. Just wanted to make sure. Kind of worried the P/O might have had the wrong lengths. I did send Kert an email asking him about that.

I would try to max out the suspension then measure, measure the stretched distance and the compressed . Weather you use jack stand and a floor jack with the wheels off or some place you can get one wheel up onto to max out your travel and measure & take picks etc... then take the shock off and compare how much movement there is to what you found earlier. Go longer if needed or it stays the same :pimp: talking about it on the internet will be difficult to find what is real... $.02c
