Now this is my kind of build thread!! So ya did all that prepwork to paint the cab but you didn't pound out those dents from the bed hittin it??

Can't wait to see it with the 42s installed, oh wait I already have

I didn't bother pounding any dents out because they add "character". That and this truck is being built to be abused. Taken care of, but still abused.

Well, the trucks been on hold for a while well I save up some money, but heres the latest progress and where this build thread slows down to the present condition of the truck. The current goals are brakes and interior..

What did ya' do to the dash besides paint it? Looks really smooth and not as porous as a stocker...

its still porus, it just doesn't show in the pics. All I did was scuff it with a red scotch brite pad.

Hmmm in the pics it looks like its been bondo'd and sanded... or even covered in fiberglass then sanded... looks good man!

Ive never tried that with an old dash, but its not a bad idea. Its impossible to find good dashes anymore. I'm lucky the one I have isn't in too bad of shape. The replacement dashes are FAR too expensive

I hear ya'... I've been wanting a new dash for years and haven't been able to justify the money for one.
I was thinking of stripping mine down and seeing how a thin coat of fiberglass strips then sanding it down and painting would look... I might have to give it a try and do a write-up...
