Never really had time to finish the build up post for this truck but for those curious ones here is what has happened in the last year since it was finished!

We are working on getting a couble more bugs out and will be competing on CalRocs 2010 with this rig and another samurai

Carnage report so far!!

1st trip to pine nuts lost all wheel stud and nuts, sheered 4 of 6, guess they were a little loose.
IMG_0361.jpg

Picking up trash on her first run of course
IMG_0369.jpg

next to go was a rear shaft at prison hill
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t287/Blazenoffroad/Skully/IMG_5027.jpg
right in this hole with the wife Cara driving too!
IMG_5022.jpg

Next was a front USA joint D44 and then it took out the yukon shaft, and twisted the splines on another. Then broke another yukon stub.

Punctured a 37" krawler sidewall on the con
lost a tire completely off the wheel on el dorado canyon as you can see in the previous pic.
Lost the same tire again but filled it with 200lbs of mud trying to get the truck out.

This whole time trying to fix weak links that showed up the truck wheeled really great! and super flexy. At this point we were ready to start competing in calrocs, but then **** kept breaking.

Next we kept having axle problems and were prepping for Calrocs 09 so we got some CTM's form Jack and said good luck Yukon we are going to the sluice box. Well Jack one of course, and I found all my caps in the pile of rocks, well at least the guys watching did....thanx

IMG_1482.jpg

And we broke a rear stock shaft at the same time. Wish I had some pics, but liquid courage was talking....we would have been fine but the spotters sucked and had me wedged in an axle breaking steer/ledge.:homer:

IMG_1435.jpg

Then the next trip we upgraded with Nitro gear rear toy Chromos for $225 give us a call:grinpimp:
and Superior front shafts with the CTM's

IMG_1423.jpg

So we broke the currie sway bar torsion bar! That sucked didn't make it back to the sluice that trip.

Next trip the damn ford starter solenoid caught on fire and almost ****ed the whole forest too!!!!! Walked away with the truck off for over 15 min came back and the hood was smoldering with black smoke. Ran, grabbed extenguisher, told my body to open the hood and bam hit it. Bam hit it again. Bam again.

IMG_1465.jpg

Electrical fire we had to run and pull the boiling batteries......I thought that damn red top was going to blow up in my face. Turned out the Ford solenoid must have never unlocked its plunger and tried to draw 24volts turned red hot and caught fire!?

That thing is bad ass! Would love to build a toy someday. Almost traded my dd for an 85 with a tbi 4.3 but it was too chitty

Based on the underhood shot, it appears to be a 22re gasser. Although it is one hell of a truck.

My brother in law is currently working on getting is 1jz-gte running in his 4runner. Only had to extend the front fenders out about 6" to get enough room for a radiator and intercooler. But, he won't have anywhere near the flex that Jesse has here. Very impressive.

Close, but his is the baby supra motor and is an 80's 4runner. He bobbed the back of the bed 10" and then stretched the front to accomodate the engine.
