Blazer Bash 2009

We'll be back 4 sure! That was a well deserved 10 days in paradise! We made it with only 1 broken leaf in a pack..... the 4x4 gods smiled upon us in '08.

ya lets make a list of all the norcal people that want to go next year so we can all train there whos in?
I am for sure, looks like bp71k5 is thinking about it, if I remember right suntadz was talking about going too. I have to fix my trailer up so it can go over 55 its a long haul at 55...

I do need some kind of locker. Heck, the doors don't even lock very well. It's between a detroit and an ARB. I plan to add a rear locker, cage, and parking brake in the next 9 months.

Get a Detroit for the rear........A whole lot cheaper, stronger and easier to install. I hardly even noticed my detroit when I drove it on the street.

I'm AM leaning towards the detroit for cost reasons. My only hesitation is that I plan to drive the truck up in the hilly freeways near Tahoe with snow, slush, and ice to go snowboarding and stuff with friends. I've heard some say it's no big deal and others that it can be dangerous on ice and snow at freeway speeds. I'd kinda like to try driving with one and see what it's like before deciding.

It can be tricky at first in the snow and ice, but once you get used to the way it acts its just fine.......The first thing I learned in the snow is to let of the gas around corners!!!!!!!!!!!! Other than that, its awesome.

If you have $, Buy an ARB. If you don have $ for an ARB, Buy a Detroit, or weld it if its an OHV.

No no more hi-jacking my thread about getting ready for Blazer bash:wink1:

Thake that chit to the garage:D

ARBs work well... but enough of that.

...getting ready for Blazer bash ...

I'd like to think I'll get to that part over X-mas.

I tried to get started on it over T-day, but it's kinda hard to do when you're out on a trail...:D
No progress on my planned upgrades, either...

5 more days then I can start getting the truck ready. Got big plans for the truck before next year hope at least half of them get done...

nota fan of detroits after bb08 blew up the right clutch gear and have yet to find a cause owell though it worked great for a year prior sp?

Get the 32 spline stuff in the my 205 and 60, get the axle shafts cut for my drive shaft yokes and weld that up, chop my rockers for some 2x6 (thats been sitting in my garage for a year), tear apart my rear suspension make a flip and adjust my leaf pack, weld up some diff covers, reweld my 14 bolt spiders the right way and shave it while I am at it. If I somehow get all that done I will probably narrow it front a rear not sure on that part though
