Wow, Michigan is long way.

A lot of folks stay at Slickrock, Portal, and Moab Valley campgrounds. So any of the motels at the north end of town will be close to other folks. If I recall, Super 8 has a large parking lot that can accomodate tow rigs with larger trailers. Most of the restaurants are in the center of town, so you can catch people in the evening. Friday night is the BBQ at the old city park in the south part of town.

Hope to see you there.

I need to find a Motel also, hard to reserve one this early. Never know if what might keep me from making it.

Mike, I plan on leaving the Tues??? before the weekend, and heading to Kerts place in Iowa, running 80 all the way to the western part of CO. Probably take 2-3 days to get into town.
Do you have a time line yet?

I concur, cabins are a great, low cost alternative to hotels. We like the cabins at Moab Rim Campark. They have "camping" cabins with a small fridge, table & chairs, queen & 2 singles, and AC. You have to shower at the main office, but it is still a nice place to have to crash in. They also have deluxe cabins that come equipped with bathroom/shower.

the cabins do sound good ill check in to that, im not sure about time line yet but were definatly going as we get closer ill check in, i think everyone wants to go north and see mt rushmore etc and then head down. the cabins sound like the way to go as long as there are showers somewhere . thanks for all the response
