Blazer Bash 2017

That music festival is always there at the same time.

Huh, didn't know that at all!!
Good to know, I saw I'm that it was it's 25th year, but....

They've tried to put stuff in the park on the day we reserve it. Pretty cool on the city staff in Moab, they called me and asked if it was for us and when I told them no they had it removed right away. Good to know they're looking out for us.

Since it's likely 2017 will be the last Bash we make it to for a few years, we're planning to be there for the week before the event. We have a couple bucket list trails we haven't managed to run yet so if anyone is able to come out early next year, we'd enjoy the company on the trails.

I would assume it's easier for most to come early versus staying longer after the event.

Here's basically what we're hoping to do:
  • Moab Rim (this may be an event run)
  • Cliff Hanger
  • Prichetté :pimp1: ride along with someone
  • Canyonlands White Rim trail, just a portion
  • Arches Nat'l Park touristy thing
  • Maybe Golden Spike, not sure because I've done it before but not in the crew cab
Of course this is not set in stone so the plan may evolve as the event draws closer. Just want to give an early heads up if you need to plan in advance for vacation time.

BTW, the 2017 dates will be Sept 8th - 10th.
Scott- it's been some time since you wrote this. Have you you got your plans set in stone as of yet? Melissa and I will be in Moab early as well. We have a hand full of things we would like to do as well, but would like to catch up and hit a trail or two with you and others before the event, if that's alright. My bucket list of trails seems to match as Moab Rim and Cliffhanger are ones I've got to do. And like you, I've done Golden Spike, but but did the last 1/3 on tge hook. So I really need a do-over.

Is anyone else arriving early in the week before the event?

We'll be there. I'd be glad to take a small group on the run I did last time (Where Eagles Dare, Golden Spike, Gold Bar Rim, Poison Spider)

For certain we are running Cliffhanger on Wednesday. Thursday we are doing an easy day running into Canyonlands Nat'l Park to drive the Shafer Switchbacks and then out of the park on Potash Rd (I think that's the name of it). Those are the only concrete plans we have. We'll also do a "tourist" trip into Arches one of the days. We haven't been to the nat'l parks in quite a few years now.

10-4 on the above! We are planning a rafting trip on Tuesday, Arches hiking trip on Monday. Cliffhanger on Wednesday sounds great. @r3dd0g your run sounds great too! And I've heard suggestions of Moab rim for a night run. Looking forward to catching up with all of you again!

I Want Moab Rim again, only did it once, 3 years ago, as my newbee trail LOL

Maybe thursday for me. I cant check into my Airbb till 3pm and I'll be there in the morning.

I remember our very first Blazer Bash we ran Hells Revenge with all our luggage in the K5.

I'll be in on Thursday mid day, really want to run fins and possibly test my bump stops at the dunes.

Really lame compared to what you guys are doing.

We'll be there Wednesday, we're camping at area BFE Wed-Thu nights and we have an Airbnb in town Fri-Sat-Sun nights. I imagine I'll probably just play around at area BFE on Thursday, though Fins n Things would be fun.

Too much rear overhang. I'm too cheap to rent a car.

I will put the Jimmy on the lift when I get back from Phoenix on the 4th.

We should arrive in Moab on Wednesday. After the long drive, I'll probably just check the truck, make a few calls for work, and check out the brew pub in town.

Looking forward to it!

David

You guys are killing me!!!!
I have no problem taking more time off from work, and I live sorta close to Moab,
But I don't want to have my son miss more days of the college education that I'm paying for!!

Uhhhgggg......

It's not like he can't drive him self lol

I made this argument starting last year. another month the kid will be married and not go to Moab anyway.
I think the dirty hippie is afraid to drive the blue truck
Me thinks that you have some weird obsession that old K5 needs to be beat on....
I told you that I be a rookie, and I never wanted to attempt every vertical surface around, but keep giving me crap! I can handle it!
