Blazer Bash 2022 It's TOO late for Last Minute Thrash

I think we're going to stay for both weeks and bring both trucks at this point.
I like this Idea, don't think I have seen someone bring two rigs at once.

Just ordered up a traction bar, will probably installing it the day before the bash. :haha:

Problem is with a national park is that you can’t roll in groups larger than three trucks unless you get permission via permits and such.

Though most of the stuff in Canyonlands isn’t hard core crawling, the remote nature of it requires camping
You guys are too afraid of these “rules”

Not saying you can’t work around it with spacing out multiple groups of three if it’s a large group but I think park rangers pick up on the similar trucks rolling around like that. It also depends on the ranger that stops you. Some are more gung ho on the rules than others.

I want that ranger to try and prove that I am in the same “group”. I brought my rig on a trailer by myself from a different state. I don’t know those other guys. They do have good taste in vehicles though! Haha.

We had 4 trucks together when we ran into a park ranger heading out to the Maze Overlook two years ago. 3 squarebody trucks, one Ram. Pretty obvious we were together. She was decent about it, but really clear that we need to split up the group. 3 and 1 or 2 and 2 she didn't care but she was concerned about the environmental impact of so many trucks together.

Now I find the idea that 2 trucks going down the trail and 2 more following five minutes later are no better for the environment than if all 4 ran together. I wasn't going to argue. We split up and then regrouped once she was well out of sight.

I found that pretty odd as well. Last year 4 of us ran elephant hill. 3 went up, 15 minutes later I started, caught em all in 10 minutes.

Interesting, 4 together damaging, 50 over the course of a year not so much….I suppose the rangers have this pounded in their heads at training tho…

That’s because idiocy knows no bounds…
Typical moronic gubmint thinking.
I would argue ten trucks in a caravan is better for the environment than ten separate rigs spaced out.

I mean we still have a few weekends to go right?
Hydro assist installed, along with the diy4x end cap and I tapped the top cap. For some reason this took me all day. I left the box on the truck so that made the end cap tricky and then I spent a few hours bleeding.
I need to tack the tie rod clamp in place and get a locknut for my pitman arm.
But I can turn without rolling, woohoo!!IMG_20220820_175123541.jpg

I got the 6ga positive and negative cables run from the aux battery to the camper. Before I was seeing as much as a full volt of drop in the line. The way I had the ground before was to the body only. The power wire was 10ga from the aux battery to the camper.

With the thicker cable for power and ground all the way back to the battery it’s now only loosing a 10th of a volt over the run.

The arb fridge is going to be much happier working with more voltage.

There is a 40 amp circuit breaker on the power cable near the battery. I’ve got a second one to put on the other end but ran out of cable lugs for my crimper. I’ll get some and finish up this week.

It’s an oil change and tire rotate away from being ready to ride.
