Couple thoughts

2 passes are 12000’
Vail and Eisenhower
I’d gear down and come down from the summit at about 50, let the engine and trans do the work. About once a year someone makes it to BB from back east with no brakes left

Third pass is Floyd hill just outside evergreen. It’s steeper than it looks despite the lack of elevation. I’d do the same on that

Once you get past vail it’s pretty uneventful

OK, got the a/c hose crimped as good as possible. No leak showing. Drove home, with 90 degree temp. 45mph, 1100 rpm

Is it flat there? You still have double digit fuel mileage

It went way down the end. 85+ and Kansas is not flat. Drops out of OD every couple of miles. I also may have manually shifted down once and forgot for 100 or so miles.

Found the air cleaner wing nut, that has been missing for a week! Things are looking up!

Made it to Colorado, but not without some hiccups. Cruising through Kansas and the truck decide to stumble and lose power momentarily. We noticed that the clutch was mushy around the same time, related? Pulled into a parts store to see if anything was out of the ordinary and found the external clutch cylinder was leaking, but reservoir was full. Nothing else noticeable. Decided to push on and made it another 3 hrs into CO without issue. Will be testing fuel pressure in the morning and replacing clutch cylinder.

Should be leaving Vegas in a few hours to drive home (4.5 hours) load up tonight and hope to be on the road before 6am, should put me in Moab about 1 or 2 pm
