Blazer Bash 2025 Last Minute Trash

I don't even have a front driveshaft in the crew cab....

Usually this weekend is my last push for the bash. Really bummed I'm not going, but next year the truck will be more then enough ready to rumble.

I would very much like to make the drive in Plank next year and participate in the shenanigans! Wanted to this year but funds and time weren't in my previous fortune cookies. Bender will be driveway art for a while :frown

Mechanically ready. I still need to put in the console screws and mount/ wire up the ham radio. If I have time, I'll mount a winch, I have all the parts and Engineered Vintage behind the bumper mount, but I would rather design and fab my own and won't have time for that.

There is a puddle under my power steering pump today. Zero chance its a loose hose, right? Lifetime warranty from Oreilly is dumb when you have to change pumps every year.

Unless the seal cracked, I have been successful using brake fluid half a pint.
Last one was still fine when I sold it 7 years later

I may just break the cycle and go get one from NAPA. This is the 3rd or 4th time in not long enough.

My 2008 2500HD with 6.0L does surprisingly good job of towing my big ass crew cab. I've just recently been hauling the crew cab when we're doing the trips with multiple days. The only issue I have is the transmission gets pretty damn hot pulling the mountain passes. This is something a lot of people have dealt with so I followed the typical remedy and picked up a TruCool 40k cooler.

The size comparison is comical. The OE cooler is tiny.

Was getting ready to do the nut and bolt check, talking to a friend on the phone look down and see this.

It's a bolt that holds my bottom winch plate in. Found about 10 bolts/nuts loose on the truck. All fluids checked /filled and greased stuff.

Yeah definitely do a nut and bolt check.
I learned the hard way, I never did and one day I was leading a trail and my crossmember drops on one side and I was stuck for a bit.
Luckily nothing broke, so I robbed a couple of bolts and nuts from non essential areas and jacked up the transmission back into place and got it bolted and I was on my way.
It was only a 20 minutes delay and I was able to catch up with the gang who bypassed me in no time
