Blazer Body Mount Bolts & Body Lift Info.

I don't think that neither the OP or I have ever heard of "rust"... what's that? :flipoff7:

my K5 backs where tacked..

the front ones are bolts, and accessible from the front of the core support, in little windows to the side of the rad.. they are free-spinning...

I'm not out in the shop at the moment, so it might be obvious, but are these windows accessible with the bumper and stuff on, or do I need to do a little disassembly?

Mine were tacked in the rear as well. All my bolts came out with no problem but there was an extensive amount of rust on some of the shanks of the bolts. My truck isn't what you'd call 'rusty, so I was a little surprised.

Small tip - I stacked some paver stones on the carriage bolts on the rear to keep them from popping up and spinning in their square holes. Don't know if it was necessary, but it might have helped.

They're accessible. the grill was already out of mine when I did it, but you could probably do it with the grill in.

Was gonna start my own thread but saw this one and thought we could add more to it that way it's all in one place.

Anyone know where to get the rest of the hardware? I got the new bushings, sleavs, washers, and lift from ord but where can I get those little bowl shaped things on the rad support? Mine were pretty rusty so I planed on knew ones but now I can't find them. Went to go see if I could clean the old ones up but now I can't find them.

Yup that's it. I looked in my lmc book but all I could find was the full kit. The website shows individual parts though.

Thanks!

Figured this would be a good place to post this. Just in case. Now we just need somebody to home brew the upper cups and we will be all set :waytogo:

My lower washers for my 85 k5 were shot. Wasnt gonna pay $70+ from LMC for 6 washers.

So i made some.

1.5" sch 40 PIPE was a perfect fit. Cut six 1/2" long pieces of the pipe, and made some big washers out of 11 ga steel.

In case it comes up, I have a brand new set of LMC bed bolts I'm trying to get rid of...

Does it come with the upper cups? Yah I prolly should have gone that route.

Yeah, I always try to tell everyone that they come with ALL of the hardware. No one ever listens.

You could start building those, and selling them to people who go the other route.

So how is the rubber quality on these LMC kits?
I know every piece is rotted on mine, and I thought I'd take the advice and get the LMC kit with ALL the hardware included.

Was tomorrow yesterday, ...or today,.... or the day before, ...or ....

Hahaha.....just a friendly enquiry.:D
