is it a good idea to put 8lugs 4,56 ratio on a k5 with 350 engine, 350 gearbox and 33' tiers?
# would I be facing any speed problems or engine problem on high rev??
And would it be suitable to drive on& offroad?
Than you

Thanx buddy am gonna have to set down all night to do all that math:)
But do u think its a good idea to do 8 lug convert on the standerd 350??

I had no Ill affects When I made that change. But im sure once you do that the next logical step will be to move up to 35's or 37's we all have. Have fun with your build

With the 4.56 and th350 on 33s it will ride pretty good. Wouldn't be able to go too fast on highway without reving the engine up pretty good. Probly be running over 3000 rpm at 65mph. Off road it will be pèrfect with low gearing. If you step up to 35-37 range you will be in a better range on road and not have to
Over rev the engine to keep up with traffic. 4.10 and 35s I don't run much over 60 on mine. I'm around 2700rpm there so it works well.

you dont need to work all night .

its pull down windows . click your options and it auto fills in the info . then when done click calculate and bam its all there .

stupid easy / fast to use. and change 1 thing just hit calculate button again .

You'll get varying opinions, play around with the ratios and see what you like.

If you plan on any significant amount of highway time, you'll want a bigger tire, less gear, or an overdrive transmission.

Other than adding additional weight, there's no reason not to do an 8 lug conversion, and going with bigger axles will give you some protection with larger than stock tires.

For what ever reason I never had RPM issues. Could run 80 before it even sinffed 3grand. Now with 4.56 and Doubler and 37's @ 80 im about 3200 HAve run above 90 and keeps climbing in the speed department.
Doing the math is a pretty good indication of what you will get. One I would say it really depends on what Tires you plan to run in the future and how you use the vehicle most. I dailey drive mine and Wheel hard when I can. I scoot down the HWY and interstate just fine, Sometimes I think 4.88 would be awesome but over all 4.56 is the perfect ratio for me. Hope you find what works for you good luck and get some pics up of your build
