Blazer is falling on it\'s face

Hey, everyone.

I need some advice. I have an Edelbrock Q-jet carb on my 383, and sometimes at WOT it will fall on it's face as soon as it shifts into 2nd. As soon as I back out of the throttle just a tad, it will pick back up. It feels like the fuel is being cut off as soon as it shifts.

My first thought was fuel filter. I have a GM high performance mechanical pump on it, so surely it can keep up.

Any ideas?

The accelerator pump only works while you are moving the gas pedal downward, squirting gas in when there is not enough vacuum to draw it in through the normal carb circuits (its not the accelerator pump). My guess would be a problems with the secondaries. I'm not an expert on this type of carb, but it sounds like a malfunction with the secondary circuit, possibly a vacuum leak on that side of the carb...

Sounds like your Air Valve is out of adjustment. Its opening up too much.
