Blazer/Jimmy hardtop for nothing look!!

Amazing how people give the Blazer/Jimmy tops away like that and no one really cares for them:confused: If this was a Jeep top, Jeep people would be all over it like flies on ****.

Those things are hard to get rid of sometimes. I had one that I finally gave to a CK5 member after a couple months of offering it for free, and I had to take one to the dump.

There is nothing amazing about it. It is called supply and demand. These only ever get damaged in severe off-road situations for the most part, and came on every 76-91 blazer, yet the trucks are parted all of the time. Why would anyone expect these to bring in a good $$$ amount? People just want these things out of their yard, and no one will come and get them. I am suprised when I see people asking money for them to be honest.

Thanks! I have wanted to build a K5 like this for a long time, and had always pictured it as being red/white, and was lucky enough to find one locally for a decent price. I hate flashy wheels on 4x4 trucks, so I thought the Pro-comp black powder coated wheels would look sweet, and I am very happy with my choice!

I had to give mine away and it was off a 75' full top! new rubber, paint and sliding windows no junk yard wanted it.

Dang I wish I could have caught that deal, I'm going to need one in the next month and am probably going to have to pay some jackhole on craigslist out the nose for it because I need it.

Post up in the wanted section of the classifieds here and keep an eye out. They are routinely given away pretty cheep around here.

Yeah i actually have 2 of them. I also have a set of full windows. The sliders are in my current top. Not hard to find around here really. I think imma ditch the top next spring and make it a full trail rig. Atleast that's my plan

I cut my top up. I cut it so that the rear seat had some cover and bolted the loose end to the roll bar.

kitimatdude is that your truck in your avatar? I went to your thread link but couldn't find pics of it. Did you install that C60 front clip? That looks awesome. I've heard a few guys talk about doing that to a K5 but have yet to see any pictures of one finished. Got any more pics?

Yes it's my truck, I got the front clip from this:

Our former municipal garbage truck :D

You can se the canopy better in this pic:

now for the bad news...
to fit the front clip the way I did you need body lift....
Eight inches of it. I did it the easy way, I used a second frame:

only 4" lift springs the drivetrain stays low I don't want to cut the fenders any further as I need inner fenders to keep the mud off of everything.

Those are good pics but don't you have any more pics of the front of the truck with the clip on it? Like in your avatar but bigger? :)

I don't seem to have many still looking as I post

here's one putting it together

The tilt nose is shorter than the regular nose so I cut up a fender to make up the 8" difference.
I busted up the nose this year on a tree...
I'm toying with the idea of adding 8" of my old hood into the middle (over the wheelwell) of my new one. its nice to be able to check the oil etc. And check out that rad! 8" taller than a 4 core and thicker!:haha:
