Unfortunately, driving with a broken TV cable roasts a 700R-4 very quickly. With it detached, the line pressure is low, as though the engine was at idle. This lets the clutches slip a lot when there is torque and destroys them. That's where the black stuff in your fluid came from. Since it goes to neutral when it should grab 2nd, the band probably isn't grabbing.
