I used a brush guard from a earlier model truck, mid 70's I think, and just had to modify the 3/8" thick steel brackets a little to make it work as well as notch the front bumper in two places. I chose this one for two reasons; One is that it was free, two is that it is designed to have recovery hooks attached to it where as most aftermarket ones are just for looks. I think LMC and JCwhitney both carry lightbars and brush guards you can mount lights too.
For an inexpensive lift a friend of mine just bought a Genuine Suspension kit from 4WP. It ended up being all procomp pieces and looked like a decent kit for its price of less than $400 as it came with all new u-bolts, shocks, and bushings for the front springs. It is a 4" block kit which is fine for her as she will be getting a flip kit in the future. Make sure you buy longer brake lines too! for tires I would suggest swamper radials just due to cost.
