Blazer or Jimmy?????

I have an 84 Blazer that the tub is more rust than metal, i have found a jimmy body that is in good shape and my question is: are they exactly the same other than the name? body mounts in the same place and all that?

More than just the front grill!
there are very very important differences!
Hood emblem, side emblem, rear emblem, oh yea, I think the steering wheel has GMC instead of the Chevy. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Other than that, it should be the same!

Body and tub parts are all the identical exact same thing.

The difference between GMC and Chevy are the decorative stuff, like the exterior trim, interior pieces, etc. etc. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

It depends on the year of the donated "Jimmy".If it is '81 and up the mounts are all the same, older than'81 then the mounts are diff.I just got done installing a '85 jimmy body on a '79 frame.Also the front and rear bumber mounts are different.Lotsa luck....it's not easy to swap bodies.

You will go by whatever year the body tub is as that's where the i.d. plate is riveted to.

Around here, they only go by the body. The frame does not have anything to do with the vin identification.
