Hey guys would you help me out with something? Would you help if I were to post blazer pics and ads so that I could pick out what's wrong with them and what they are worth? If I miss something or get it wrong could you let me know? I'll post one in awhile I'm about to head to work.

Skip to the second page that's where this actually starts.

well I know it's probably too far for you to go and get it, but there is a place in Tucson , AZ about 600 miles from you on I10 who has 3 of them that look to be in good enough condition and priced pretty good: one is $1100 and one is $1300 and the best one for $1600.
If I were you an had any chance if making this happen, I would try, the cost of flying there and driving it back home would be still under $2000

Of course, lemme give you some advice, whenever you go look at one, bring a flashlight, day time, night time, doesn't matter. A little light on the subject can really reveal alot

Saw that add myself on craigs list they are from an off road touring company they dont beet on stuff too hard cause of the liability of the passengers but they havent run in over 3 years

Yeah the pics and description of the company tells me it's a great price for a local, and still not bad for a reasonable distance buyer.
If I didn't have enough of them I would be taking a 3 car trailer down there.

I Emailed the guy. That's a 9 hour drive from where I live it seems worth it though..Should I see how good of shape it's in? Would it be worth looking at?

If you can wait a week I could go check em out when I get back. im going out of town for for work today tho wont be back till the end of the week

Ya if you could check em out for me Thumb that would be great! I don't wanna drive 9 hours for nothing!

I hope that isn't Auto Body Express' company vehicle, cuz that's some bad advertisement. :doah:

I think for 2k you could do better. Can't even tell what bad things have been done to the suspension.

I'm not looking to buy these just practice picking out what's bad in them. Is there any other kind of Chevy like k20's or trucks like that 80's-early 90's worth looking at? I just know I want a older 4x4 Chevy to take off roading but I do like blazers a lot.

You think someone advertising their body shop on the window would have the "minor" body work done.........upholstery is in pretty bad shape

Ok so the practice begins!

I know there isn't much info but judging by the pictures all I think it needs is some minor body work, correct me if Im wrong but I think it would be worth 2000.
The body doesn't need work it needs a :hack:
This body is not good for someone that want to fix it, but good for an ugly wheeler that will get clearanced for bigger tires, and taken to the trail without a worry it will be scratched.
I would pay up to $1500 if I drove it and it seemed all good, but if you are really into it, and it's close enough, you could go $1800.
Now remember I never buy anything that I can't resell as I am walking away from the seller, so I will always advise you to try and pay less, it's how I am, and I only do this because I can.
I have seen way too many good deals that I can't pay full price for anything even if I needed it.:pimp:

No. Nada. 2k is way to much. Overall picture says it wasn't taken care of. It will need.more than a little body work. Look around the side mirror, the obvious wheel well stuff. I bet this thing is cancer ridden. Interior is trashed. He put three obvious chrome pieces on the engine to detract from rest of the mess. If the 454 is good and he has proof, say $650. Tops. Maybe $800.. if it is in better shape than the pictures depict. Unless you have the time and money, or you want a beater, I would move on. NEXT! :)

This is so true....

I would NOT own the rig I own, or have had to fix the junk I did, Had I brought a flashlight... :doah:

around here that would go for 2g.it does have some obvious issues as you can see.id wonder what kind of rust id underneith.im surprised as well that is not fixed seeing as how it has the places advertising sticker in the window.lol

The price is a little high, but that is a pretty decent body for a '79. At least around here it would be. I like the rusty ones, you don't feel bad about bashing them into things.

I really have no idea what I look for with the flash light what do I look for? I have 0 mechanical experience so I feel like this will be a long process of finding a blazer. Or I'll end up buying one I think is good and it will turn out to be junk!
