Hey guys wats up. I have a 91 1/2 ton blazer with a 383 stroker, 6 inch lift and 38 tires. I have not snapped any axles yet but everyone tells me its going to happen. I do go mudding and trail riding and pretty much do the average off roadin like anyone else. I also have a 3/4 89 suburban and i was wondering if its worth swaping alxes. Is 1/2 to 3/4 ton that great of a difence or should i save for the D60s? Or should i not even worry at all?

With 38's you are pushing the limits of the 10b front, and that will be the weak link in both vehicles. The rear in the burb should be a 14bsf axle, stronger than the 10b that is in the Blazer, but not as reliable as the 14bff. However, this axle is much beefier than the 10b rear you currently have, and will provide stronger axles and less chance of breaking. If you already have the set, it wouldn't hurt to at least replace them while looking for a D60/14bff to swap in. The one advantage to the 14bsf over the ff version would be the smaller pumpkin that acts as less of a boat anchor.

All depends on your driving style I ran the same set up but had a 400ci and only broke one front axle shaft.. Cracked a few bearings and balljoints wear about every year or so. I just remembered I had 10 bolts and behaved. About 7 years later and on their 4th truck I still have the same set of 10 bolts. They have it easy under a s10 and 33s now
