Has anyone done this? Am I crazy for thinking about this? Was thinking if the top was cut just like the blazer and use a blazer top it might work. What do you think?

I thought about it for a while because my dad had a cherry Suburban that I could get for cheap. I can't remember what all my measurements came out to, but I think I came to the conclusion that it would work. You'd have to have considerable welding skills though because it would all be sheetmetal work.

It was a thought I was tossing around in my head. Mainly I was curios if anyone has done it yet? If I ever get the guts to do it (highly doubtful) I will do a write up on it.

I think it was 2 issues ago in Truckin' magazine, there's a K5 that was done here in Lubbock by Jason Hill of Hill's Hot Rods. There was a pretty detailed write up about the project and if you want more info. try looking at http://www.hillshotrods.com/project_blue_blazer/ . Keep in mind this is a show truck and he did drop the damn thing. But it should give y'all the information you're looking for.

You mean the blue Blazer? That was a burb top on a Blazer. He wants to put a Blazer top on a burb.
There was someone on here who did that. I think it was a white burb but I don't know who.

i can get pics

pm me your email and i'll send you some pics from this board adn if i can remember, their names

gmcjimmy88, those were the pic i was gonna send you. i still have some more if you are still interested.

Those are some cool pics:thumb: . Why hasnt anyone tried to put a chalet on a burb? I think that would be a cool rig. Camp with the burb and wheel the :k5: :waytogo: If I had the space I'd try it.

That's BurbBoy's burbalanche.

It has since been rolled and scrapped.

i thought of it might do it too some day.

easyest way i saw was to hack off the rear of the burb and weld in a tub from a blazer that way you have a gate and window that work!

I have not done it but it is a good idea. No yer not crazy, merely one of us here :D I have "odd" ideas all the time. like a burb cut down to blazer size for hard top k5, burb limo (at about 29' bumper to bumper) amongst others. I live for custom projects :saweet: :waytogo:
