Hey yall,

I'm getting to the end of up my rust repair around my windshield frame. I'll be needing to install a new windshield and windshield rubber here before spring. Where have you had luck getting these parts? Any help is appreciated!

just call your local glass shops for auto glass .

cheaper than shipping in and have it in a day or 2 . plus if you dont know how or want to install they will do it for you .

in my area upstate new york last new one delivered and i put in was 150-170 for the glass .

I had mine done last summer. The local glass shop did the swap for about the same price I could get the glass shipped to me. Not only were they done before the glass would have arrived from LMC, they came to my house so I didn't have to drive the truck. The shipping on the glass is the killer. You might call ahead on the seal, as there is a newer style on the market that kind of zippers together instead of using the locking strip. If you want the old look, you may have to specifically request it with enough time to get it ordered.

Also figure out if you want the shading strip at the top and whether or not you need the on-glass antenna. Yes, they're still available.

Safelite came to my house (shop) and installed a windshield w/new gasket and the guy never complained about my Blazer being lifted, the price was very reasonable.

The Glass Doctor here in the 801 (SLC UT)
Will install new glass in a square body for $149+tax. Buy your own seal new.

Question on the glass with the antenna in it. How well do they work with the new radios? Back in the day, 35 years ago, I don’t remember them working very well. But we also had to dial that radio in.

Honestly, I don't listen to FM a lot, but I haven't noticed it being lacking, as in I hear all the stations I expect to hear on my semi-modern Kenwood 1-DIN. Maybe one day I'll do a weaker station comparison with one of the trucks with a mast. I know that over the years I've replaced a couple of masts, but that glass one made it almost 40 years before the windshield broke and it sees WAY more brush. I didn't want to cut a hole and mount an antenna and then bash it on all the trees like how my CB and UHF antennas get abused.
Buy a amplified glue on antenna and be better off .
Do you have an example? We're talking 3 meters, so 1/4-wave antenna is almost 30" long. The factory stubby antennas use a preamp.
