Blazer wont start unless you tilt the wheel all the way down

it started about 2 weeks ago, getting worse and now you have to tilt the column all the way down to start it.
I tried to adjust the ignition on the steering column with no help.
what should i look for? Is there a chance the rod went bad?

How sloppy is the tilt ?

its tight just had that rpaier last year , the 4 bolts come lose

There is a pot rack and sector gear in there that moves the wire rod. They break.
