Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Worked for me, looks like it was a fun time.
Got Twinkie out of the Conex for a drive couple of days ago. She did not want to start. Alternator was not charging. Got her home after the drive put her in the garage not the Conex.
Cleaned up the battery terminals tried to put on the battery charger. Battery charger broke, no money, means no big charger. Got the 15 amp out of the basement from the battery bank.
It has taken all of about three days to get one of the batteries back to 100%, charger was thinking it was a 6 volt. Alternator charges fine now. Kind of thought it may be too dead of batteries to charge not a bad alternator.
Still in the garage cotton is still flying so not excited about moving it. Wife hasn't expressed that she cares yet either.

Alternators are battery maintainers, not chargers.

I am thinking I may want to redesign my system and add in a charging port of some kind. So that I can charge both batteries with out climbing in and around the truck to get to them when the truck is in the conex.
Maybe I will even do a solar charger before she gets put away for the winter this fall.

Ha I already a few sets of those, and none of them are orange.
Don't need them that big though. Just have to charge them not run tons of current though them.

You got batteries... Nice! I got a spot for two in my 77 but they both went missing when my kids needed one for their crap! 
So my issue is going to be how to charge them both at the same time or keep them both maintained, but yet still keep them separate. They are wired separately only work together when the truck is starting.
battery isolator keeps them charged separately but each run their own systems.
Maybe I just need to wire them together and call it good. I have the space on both batteries to do that. Would make charging a bit easier.

They make battery monitors that will control charging to both batteries.

I want to do some sort of charging set up is in the vehicle some what permanently. So that I can just hook a charger say like the front of the truck which has ports that connect to both batteries or some thing ??

Look at the “battery tender” brand chargers. They come with connectors so you can permanently connect them to your battery or alligator clips for a temporary solution. I have a couple of them on the squares.
They’re also amazing for motorcycles. I keep one on my busa for the winter.
