Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

You are so far ahead of me. I wish I could help with your questions. Entertained though...

Dont think it could invert. I built the mount for it to be compression about a 4 foot long bar.

If I make it tension could do a 60+ inch long one.

I will have to do some figuring as to what length would better. I think the 48 inch one will cause alot of rear lift vs. squat.

In light of my interior color question and the off the wall answers, no way in the world am I painting my interior orange. Brown maybe, white more then likely. But not Chevy Orange. When the engine gets rebuilt, the engine, the trans and the t-cases will be painted orange.

That being said been looking at tubing benders and plasma cutters. Rouge fab bender and a plasma from Eastwood. Any body have any thoughts on either?

My Eastwood tig works fantastic.

It's all china, but they have awesome customer service. The pedal went to shit, and they shipped me a new one no questions asked. Didn't even have to send the old one back.

3 year warranty too.

I will be getting the plasma.

Well time for another update...
Built me a traction bar.
It is 64 inches long. Has a Johnny Joint on the end. Made it out of 1.75 tube. The cross member that it attaches to is 1.5. The shackle is one of my old ones from ORD.
It is really close to following the same angle as the drive shaft.

Turned out rather well. Some what happy with it. Will see how it does when I pull it out of the garage tomorrow. Have to get it in the trailer it is going to snow on Monday and the wife want her garage back.

On my truck there a lot of things that are supposed to be on the passenger side; front drive shaft, transfer case, front diff, fuel tank filler neck, however the traction bar doesn't matter. I put it on the drivers side because my exhaust is on the passenger side.

ten-four. I figured it was because of your exhaust. I just thought I read something somewhere sometime about it counteracting torque roll if it was on pass side. Idk if that's true or not.

Chevy on the outside...FORD on the inside

C'mon man, even I put stickers on the hubs that say Warn, can't have any Ford guys giving me a hard time about that.
