Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Keith, where's the cream filling? Less chat and more pics!!! We have been waiting months!!! Giterdun! Lol!!

Yah I was expecting it to return from erics with the top all hacked off in the rear or something :dunno:

So update

Seat mounts are built and in

Trans and T-case are raised an inch, closer to a flat bottom. :waytogo:

Floor is cut and panel put in with ugly welds but fixed some uglier welds. My welder is so old it makes the stone age look like yesterday. Really hard to weld sheet metal with it on level 6 and .030 wire (only setting that works and only wire it will take).

Have to do seat belt mounts. Some wiring cleaning up. Make some interior lights work. Find a bracket for the second row seats. That is about it besides maintenance. Then should be ready for the bash.

Very nice seat mounts! That's what I need! Mine are too dang high... Make me a pair? :D

Pics of the body?

A couple of new pictures of the Burb

Seats are in
Belts are in
New used fair-lead is on
Even painted the front fenders, rattle can.

Got a cowl induction hood for it too. Not sure if its going to go on. Would like to put it on the dually but its the wrong year and not sure I want to change the dually to the new style. I rather like the weirdness of the 1980 style.

My driveshaft is clunking also. So got to get it blocked and pull the rear shaft and see if the flange is loose again.

The axle's need some more gear oil so got to get on that too.

My 203 shifter is a little hard to shift seems to be hitting the floorboard so may need to fix that.

Nice!!!! Finally!!! Yea put the hood on the Burb! Will help with the Moab heat. Those seats are nice! They look comfy! I love the 80's body style. I wouldn't do anything else! What's the old saying? "GM quit making trucks after..."

I didn't see any mirrors. Could go to Autozone and get those quick connect ones? That's what my bro uses on his Samurai when he takes the doors off. Ya know, to stay legal...

Looks like some rock sliders would be a great upgrade for ya.

So putting it on jack stands on Saturday or maybe this afternoon. Going to pull the wheels off and tighten the U-bolts.

So have a issue. I have just found out that the Chevy dashes are all the same, as in the metal part. So I have this really nice dash in the Burb and a really ugly dash in the K30. So I am swapping them well taking the K30 out and putting in the Burb dash.
This is the issue BB12 is coming up we are 20 days from leaving for it. I have DIY4X4 dash. I have all the needed gauges. However I am working 76 hours a week so time is limited. Do I start the swap? or just wait? It would be cool

Think I have to make a list of what I would need to do it.

wait and do it after..this is the first year you wont be working on the rig when you should be driving to Moab...dont screw that up
