Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

I have a couple of spare tail light buckets and lenses if you need them. I will even be coming through the area later this week so I could drop them off if you want. No charge of course since I got them for free and I am coming through anyway. Just let me know.

Still looks like a good time was had!

How dare you 1st: Depress me with all your fender trimming and body damage. And 2nd: Not even post the pics of the wheeling that caused it....:D

Did find something that I have to fix. Front diff is leaking anybody want a Warn rock guard for a D60? Going to have to build me a new cover.

It has a new look.

Finished taking out the rest of the interior. Got rid of the back doors. Pulled out the back windows one was broken anyway.

Took the wife out yesterday down to the local former cement company they have some really big piles of cement. Drove up on one of them was kind of fun. Riding with out back doors was interesting got alot more rear blowing wind. The front window is for sure coming out.

Went to the scrap yard this morning. They wont take frames, I have half of one from a 73 blazer they wouldn't take it. So I have to finish cutting it up or keep it for parts.

Might keep it because I may need some pieces when I cut the back of mine off.

I am just copying the way that they did the door on that. I really want doors that open so Jack found that chassis and I going to copy how they did what would be the down bar.

So Twinkie went broke

So the Twinkie employes all went on strike and the factory's had to close up shop and sell out . Is this what is going on with you or is your Twinkie obsolete from the union strike shut down ? Also maybe we need to name your nova dingdong ,ho ho ,or maybe zinger if you paint it red and it runs again .

So I thought I would do a little update.

Went out and charged the batteries, cleaned some snow of the tarps that are on it. Started it up let it run for awhile and get hot, put it in gear took it out of gear. Then turned it off.

Yup that's it.

Rather easier to get into now with two feet of snow piled around it seems rather short.

So I am getting another burb for body parts and sheet metal pieces.

Not sure how much I am going to use but I will have a bunch to practice on.

Was out looking at mine and kind of have a goal to do something new to it every year.

So with my lack of funding it is going to get a bob and shortened. Not sure how much because I need to keep the integrity cuz I got no cage. Might even get some dash work done to it also.

Have all the stuff to do a trans/ t-case mount so can get that done also.

I'm not ready to offer any help just yet but when I'm done re-organizing my life you are welcome to bring it over to the shop and we can knock out a cage for you.

Bob information.

Feel free to check my thread regarding the bob I did on mine.
If you have any questions or concerns, I'm happy to help out however I can!

Looking forward to seeing another member do a bobbed sub.:waytogo:

18" worked out best for me, but you may have other plans.:dunno:

By the way, LOVE the 4 tube doors on your rig.
How do you like them on the trail?

My problem is I also think the 1/2 doors like our recent GMOTM winners beast, are great too.

The tube doors are fine I like them kids like them. When I do the boat side I am going to have to redo them or do less of a boat side but we will see.

My only issue with the bob is how to do the roof I want to keep it looking like a Burb, really a Tahoe when its all said and done. At least from a distance.

My end result is going to be as wide as the frame and as short as the rear shackle mount.
