Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Figure I have the space between the bottom of the grill and the top of the frame to play with for fitment.

So I can lay the radiator back abit and get some that way.

Rather glad I did not tie the shock hoops into the bars yet. Still have that to do but do not have to redo it.

Did some checking and looking and measuring this morning.

Going to be able to tilt the radiator back plenty. Will be able to drop the bars about three inches.

Only think I am going to have to change is the mounts for the hold downs and the upper hose needs to be shortened a bit.

So did some work this morning before work.

Bars cut.

Radiator moved back, still need to do the mounts

Fenders mocked up going to work and look a lot better.

Hood trimmed to fit the radiator. It is sitting on the cross bar now so, no more rattling down the trail.

Have to use the oil cooler that is in it, the exhaust runs to close to the lines to have them made out of rubber not alum. . My other one has rubber lines this ones lines are about half alum. So I need to make some new mounts for it but it is going to fit fine.

Need to figure out how to make the bend on the down bars a 90 think my only option is going to be heat and bend. Any other ideas?

Had a few hours this morning before I had to work so down tubes are mounted.

Radiator pads are in

Top of oil cooler is mounted just not sure how to mount bottom yet.

Also have to figure out how to fit the winch controller.

Trans cooler is in

as well as the oil cooler

started designing the radiator upper mount then it started to rain

Also pulled out the filler neck and siphoned some fuel out, lawn mower needed gas so I figured what the heck lighter to pull out when I have to pull it.

Still have to connect the down bars to the shock hoops.

Connect all the hoses and wires for the fans and radiator

Bolt on the lower mount for the fans

Mount the fenders

Then get to start on the back :woot:

On my days off I have been working on a different truck for $$$, working out rather nice so far.

Headlights are in

Horns are in, wires in the front are done

Fans lower mount is in

Have been trying to work on it a bit but its been "snowing" here alot really hate it hard to work with it flying all around.

Ordered the fuel pump though, will be here tomorrow.

Broke my sprinkler line so I will be fixing it in the morning before work. Instead of working on the burb.

Got the fuel pump recommended in another thread. Need a filter any ideas ?

Needs to be pretty inexpensive but work.

Connected the down bars to the shock hoops.

Also a few days ago connected the down bars better into the A pillar

You can see both in the pictures.

Started working on getting the fenders on. Drivers side is about done, or at least figured out how its going to fit.

Fender is on

Have the other side to do, then have to wire tie some wires.

Then do the winch controller mount.

After that the front should be done.

Took an hour or so this morning put the passenger fender on. Have to do some mount bending and then it should be good to go.
