Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

No picture of said officer.

Did some work on the truck.

Put a flex pipe in the exhaust, a bit further back then I wanted to do, but only spot I had where it would fit. So it may or may not work.
Got two new batteries, the new last year Optimas were bad, one was at 3.5 volts and would not charge the other was marginal. So I got them both replaced.

I then figured out how to get power all the time out to the conex. Well it is still plugged in power. It is an extension cord to a box that I can plug the trickle charger into. The trickle charger is hard wired into the isolator of the truck so that it will keep both batteries charged up.
The box has two outlets into it so I can plug in my lights or the trickle charger. Works rather well. Going to switch all the bulbs out to LED's so it will draw less amps also.

You are insane either way.

I thought like this was its last year traveling, ya know best truck everrr, most votes everrr, and it is tan. Why does it need to go anywhere.......... think we should take a vote...

Spent some time doing some work on Twink today. Replaced one of the O2 sensors after disconnecting the old one and having it work, then not work, so I just replaced it.
Then pulled out the tools and stuff took a look at them and made sure they were all there. Do need to add some gasket maker though.
I then did a light check found out that my passenger side rock lights were not working. Seems that the power wire decided to disappear rather near the exhaust pipe. So fixed that.

Other then that no other issues that I could find.

So I made the mistake of posting in the BB Thrash post saying I had nothing to do well I do now, well I did. Alternator went out so I replaced it lifetime warranty from Checker bought in 2009. So no cost for me and it took like more time to go get it then to replace it. I love a built not bought truck.

Had to do some repair on that alt at the bash. The fins were rubbing on the case. tried filing the case down, did not work so i bent the fins out and it works fine.

So mods in the plan for Twinkie:

Going to install a t-bar grab handle for the passenger. Got to ride in the passenger seat when Kenalee drove Fins-n-Things, really need one. Going to do a foot pedal also for the passenger side.

Going to put some expanded metal on the floor of the rear passenger side guess the floor gets rather hot there too.

Brought a grill this year worked rather well was fun to grill burgers and hot dogs instead of just eating a sandwich on the trail. Going to make a slide under my trunk area to hold the grill or something like that. Going to make something to hold a couple of propane bottles as well, little ones that you take camping.
