Blazer's Tow rigs

Side note on this thing pulled in to night in my new $250 DD Toy Camry and looked at the back of the burb and was like what is that. Got out and looked and noticed that the exhaust pipe ends just after the rear end.

Did some wok on this thing. Put the new headlights in. Not sure I like them yet or not but they look cool.

Started getting it ready for the airbags. Got the bump stops off have to finish popping the rivets out. Then do some drilling and bolting.

Keiths like...."Hey all you CK5 losers..I upped my game so up yours"....working on 2 trucks at the same time

Took the rig to Bear Lake this weekend.

Had to do a bit of a panic "slow down real fast you are not going to be able to pass that semi after all". Drove a bit farther down the road pretty much up hill.

Got to the down hill side going down to bear lake truck starts shaking real bad hmmm?
Thought I had warped a rotor but, did it while not on the brakes though. Then it stopped, then it did it again, then it stopped, then it did it again. Got it to the cabin while dealing with the shake.
So called Eric, he lives about an hour and a half away was thinking about coming to Bear Lake any way. Said hey bring some crap I have an issue.
We thought bearing ? I then thought tire ? Wasn't really sure.

Eric got in the next day took it for a ride. Figured out that it did it under deceleration. However not all the time, sort of.
So jacked it up on a hill in the dirt at the cabin my in-laws had rented for the weekend. Passenger side rear tire turned fine, drivers side no turn at all hmm.

Took off driver side tire. Spent the next three hours beating, prying, beating, prying , pounding, bending, and finally getting the drum off. Shoes were trying to become part of the drum, pretty much almost succeeded.
Everything inside looked good-ish. Minus the stuff we bent.

So drove into the large city of Montpelier ID to the NAPA. Bought new shoes, hardware kit as well as an adjuster.
Put the new parts in. Seemed to work good. Drivers fine no issues except a squeak from the drum hitting the very beat to death backing plate, fixed as well as we could in the dirt.

Only thing we could figure out is the front shoe had the same spring holing the shoe as the rear spring. After comparing the new kit to what came off. Which cause the front shoe to move? All a guess though.

So looking at prices for a new set of drums if they are too much going to get a newer rear axle convert it to disc's.

We should have taken a pic of where we were working. Let's just say it wasn't level.

Yes it was not.

Going to be $200 or so for new drums and the other hardware kit.. So looking for a disc rear axle. But really not planning on finding one that cheap so more then likely just going to fix this one good.

So finally got around to doing the passenger side rear brakes, just about as hard to get the drum off but not quite as bad.
So got all new shoes and hardware for the rear axle. Decided to not do the drums, dont want to stomach the $200.

Have had an exhaust leak for a bit thought I would fix that too. Well had one bolt missing on the manifold so replaced that.
Had another bolt that seems to have broken off. More then like its not sicking out of the head so.... going to have to be the next owner that fixes it cuz I am not going to drill the bolt out. Only chance is if I get a sudden urge to put on a set of headers and the end is sticking out enough to get it out.

Going to see how it does towing down to the Bash and if I still dont like it going to get a 4 door long bed with more then likely a 8.1 or would be ok with a 454.

Try a left handed bit and a right angle drill. I've had luck with multiple exhaust manifold bolts with that combo.
