I was wondering the best way to bleed my radiator. It's a 79 k5 350 blazer. Thanks

You don't need to bleed these. Air will naturally make its way to the top, and exit via the cap or overflow tank hose.

Curious, why did you think it needed to be bled?

Start it up cold with rad cap off. Keep topping off the coolant until the t-stat opens. It will gurgle whatever air is in there and then surge slowly like it's about to overflow. Put cap on and drive it for a day or so. Then top it off the next time it's cold.

They shouldn't really need 'bleeding' since the radiator cap is the highest point in the cooling system. I know there are modern cars that do require it, but not these.

Fill it (cold) until it won't take anymore. Start truck with cap off. Add coolant as needed. Install cap. Make sure overflow has at least some coolant in it. Let truck warm up, then shut it off. Let it get cold again, now check radiator and overflow levels. If necessary top radiator off, and the reservoir, done.

Radiator cap vents coolant (as it expands) AND air into the overflow, and as long as there is coolant in the overflow, can only draw coolant back in to replenish the radiator.

Thanks guys. I figured that because the cap is the highest point but I thought I'd ask just to make sure there wasn't a better way to do it. Thanks for the help.
