i blew the brake line to the rear brakes on the 88 suburban while heading to pick up the k10 after it's transmission failure.

the hole is on the hard line near the frame outrigger that holds the brake line.

i rounded one of the points on the flare coupling due to a crappy flare nut wrench. if i could get a wrench on at a different angle i might be able to get a grip on it again. the coupling is rusted, as is everything else on the truck.

does anyone have any good ideas on how i can get that coupling loose?

big vice grips didn't fit, i'll have to try smaller ones. i sprayed it with some PB blaster earlier, so maybe that will help loosen it a bit.

You could try putting a little heat to it with a propane or mapp gas torch.
Wear some safety glasses.

couldn't get the coupling off but i did get the piece off on the axle that splits to the brakes. napa had one in stock. now i just need to bend up the hardline, hook everything back together and hope it works.

any thing i should know how to secure the brake line to the frame. i am worried i will breat a fuel line if i start tearing the old line out to route the new line with the fuel lines.
