my engine finally kicked over and blew.:doah: not sure if its a head gasket or what, but alot of coolant came from the pipes today. and it wouldnt start. my buddy is gonny sell me a long block, were not sure what cam is in it. is there a way to tell? if i got a cam, whats the rpm range that would require a stall converter???

There are many different ranges that converters can come in as far as stall speeds go. Engine tune, application, gear ratio and vehicle weight are some of the things to consider when selecting a torque converter.

All torque converters are "stall converters" some just have different stall speeds than a stock converter, some are higher and some are lower.

Best thing to do is pull the cam and get the numbers off of it so that you know what your have. In a 4X4 you really don't want to go any higher than necessary on the stall speed (unless your mud racing and need it).
