I was diving my buddies plow truck the other day, Its an 85 K20 with a 454, sm465,and the np208, i got to spinning on some muck so i stopped the tires from spinning, and put it in low range. I let the clutch out and heard this awful smashing noise, i got out, looked under it, and all seemed good, i got back in and tried to move it again and the same noise happened. Got out and there were big chunks of aluminum on the ground and a gush of ATF. Oh Fuc. i crawl under it and the planataries in the low range side let go. anyone else ever see this before? I have a 208 from a th400 im gonna slam in this weekend but i dont really want this to happen again.

UH HEM, 454, SM465....... and a np208, and you were useing the 4wd on it, hmmmm duhhhh derrrrr and your wondering why this happend, tell him to put a np205 behind it, after all that is what they put behind the big motors in the 80's on the 1 tons. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Don't feel bad I've killed 3 since I started posting here (actually that's how I found this place I was searching for 205 swap info ) 2 times I blew out the high range side and all I had was low range the last one I split he the case in half when the chain broke /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Yeah I got 208 pieces all over the side of the house. I've blown a few up on the trail. Got a 203 in there now. Low sucks, but at least dependable.

Yeah, it'll definetly ruin your afternoon /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
