So the 10bolt sent the spiders through the cover while on my deer hunt. So the question is what all do I need to take the rear from a 05' 2500hd and put it under my k5?

Thanks for any input

You have to move the spring perches and shock mounts and convert the front from 6 lug to 8 lug. Maybe an issue with the brakes, but I'm not sure.

The 05' has the rear disk brakes so not sure what wheels will work. I now have to try and find 8lug 15" to fit the 35" Groung hawgs. But thats looking to be impossible to find.

Any ideas for the wheels also? Half tempted to sell the set to just buy new ones again.

why not look for some cheap 3/4 ton stuff. get the 14 bolt full floater and than when you have the money you can swap to a dana 60 up front. There are tons of old 3/4 stuff lying around and its a direct bolt in on a blazer. like they said you will have to get somer 8 luggers. this way would probally be the cheapest and the fastes since it a direct bolt in

16's are the smallest you can go on the newer trucks
True, their brakes are bigger. Unless you have this 05 2500 sitting around, you would be lots of work saved in looking for an axle out of a truck of the same era. Then it's pretty much a straight across swap. If this '05 axle has disc brakes, you'll need a new proportioning valve in order to effectively use the rear discs. Then it'll be kinda wierd to have a truck with bigger brakes in the back than the front.
