I had a 75 K5 2WD many yers ago,the last year they had the fully removeable roof--I got it for 150 bucks because it had rusty floors someone patched with aluminum roof flashing /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gifmade it rot even more due to electrolosis--I replaced that mess with 16 gauge galvanized steel, and after a year or so the 250 six in it shredded the teeth on the cam gear--so I put in a 307 from a 71 Burb I parted out,and a friend had a 4 speed from a 74 vega (saginaw)and it bolted right in place of the 3 speed that was in it factory--only downside was the vega shifter was a POS that sometimes went out of adjustment when speed shifting!,it had a very low first gear(probably cause it came from a 4 cylinder vega)and I could beat mustang GT's in first and second gear off the line--I even won 50 bucks with it when one jeeper with a big mouth said "Two wheel drives are for pussy's,that thing wont climb an anthill!"--I backed up about 200 ft,floored it and banged first, second and third, made it to the top of the hill at about 30mph--and nearly hit another jeep right at the top of the hill that was coming down, just missed him!.I miss that truck--it was a nice smooth ride with coils up front, got decent gas mileage and could smoke many other cars and trucks in stoplight races. It wasnt much to look at,since it was mostly patch panels and primer--but I sold it for twice what I paid when one guy liked how it would get up and go.I nearly bought another 2WD after that,a 1971 Blazer--but I already had 2 other 4x4 K5's the same vintage--looking back it would have been an investment--first generation K5's in 2WD configuration are extremely rare,at least around here.
Dont know if the one in the E-bay post is worth 15 grand, but it would make a nice summer cruiser!. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
