Working on getting pricing for having my spare block machined. Local shop quoted me $500 to align hone the crank and $400 for the cam. Seems kinda high to me but I don't know. Also charging $80/cyl to bore it out 30 over and then another $75 for cleaning. $1,615 seems damn high considering when I had a 302 bored 30 over, decked, crank polished, balanced rotating assembly, pistons assembled, and new cam bearings and freeze plugs installed it was $550 out the door. Different shop in a different city but dang.

Edit:
Called the machine shop I used previously. Bore and hone with torque plates, deck if necessary, clean, magnaflux, freeze plugs, cam bearings, line hone, $780. Looks like I'm making a 3hr trip.

Plus cleaned, checked, and polished the crank.

Place I go to charges $400. Hot tank, bore, hone, check line bore, cam bearings, soft plugs, oil plugs, ready to be assembled. Need to find a new machine shop.
