Blower help...

Like I said, I'm not sure that GM used them on the trucks. (apparently the S10's they did)

If you've got it far enough apart, a simple continuity test from the head unit to the blower would reveal a wiring issue.

True, I'll look again at the wiring diagram and see if there is a straight "hot" wire that goes to the relay box and bypasses the resistors which would control the high position. Then do a continuity test on that wire to see what the scoop is. Because it doesn't come on at all I'm sure there is a break in the line somewhere.

My brother's was actually the plug on the back of the switch, I believe. I can't say for sure because it's one of the few things that he actually fixed for himself. :rolleyes:
 
Avery4jc! Did you ever get this fixed? If so what was the deal. I have the same problem and I am going to tackle it tonight or tomorrow. Of course everything is covered and mud and its cold outside and I can't fit the ol' K5 in the garage with the tires on it. Should have fixed it B4 I hit my first mud pit.

EDIT: Holy old thread I know!

Ok i've traced down where I don't have power going to my relay. The red wire all the way to the left has no power going to it with the blower set on high. I am sure this is my problem but what I don't know is where the power for this wire comes from. Would not having power on the red wire cause my blower not to work in any speed? Does anybody know which fuse runs the blower. My big ass has a hard time getting up under there to pull the fuses (6'4" 290lbs). I pulled a couple but they were fine and then I had to take my son inside because he is sick. I had 12VDC on the orange and blue wires and the relay is working fine. If I ran a inline fuse from the distribution block on the firewall to the large red wire would my other speeds on my blower work? What gage wire would I need to use? And finally...I am suppose to have voltage on all of the wires going into the back of the resistors when set on high? TIA!

Just figure out why it's not working. You'll spend less time and it will be done right. :)

I'm *guessing* that the large red wire should have 12V with the key on. I don't believe any of the heater stuff is fused.

Granted, I'm not well versed on the AC stuff, but there is probably a single brown 12V wire going up to your heater control panel (in the cab) from the fuse panel, but first, is your problem that you have NO heater at any speed?
