Hey All you non ac first Gen owners. I would like to tell you all about a secret I just found out about our blower motors. I bet some of you know this trick already but I would like to share to the ones who dont know. for the past month it has started to get cold in my neck of the woods. So I started getting concerned about my heater as it didnt blow to great felt like it was on super low and would not heat up my jimmy. So I wanted to do something about it. so I did some research on about what I could do like. change fluids, lines, thermostat, heater core, blower motor. well when I bought my truck the PO already changed that stuff a few years before I bought it so I think I should be good. but it would not blow heat that well. Okay enough with the long story. What I found out from researching around is that if you change out your non ac blower motor to a ac blower motor it will blow the heat around super good. and for a $20 part I thought why not try it. So yesterday I got off early and installed it. it took about an hour to do and was very very easy. the one thing you do need to do is you half to take your hood hinge off the fender to get the blower motor out. which I thought it would be a big pain in the a$$. I was wrong before you take it off mark on the fender where the hinge is with a pencil so you can line it back up and put a broom handle on the frame to the hood to support the hood so it doesnt slide into your cowl or windshield. it is an easy upgrade and pretty cheap and you will FEEL THE DIFFERENCE. So give it a try you will not regret it.
