I blew my 305 out a while back, and when I drained my oil afterwards, it came out like sludge, and the engine just barely rotates when all the spark plugs are out. I drained the rad completely out, and added another 4L of oil and changed the filter. Now I need a car (a little four banger I think, V8's are hoggs on gas, jeez), and I don't know what to do with the truck. It will be sitting all winter most likely. I am just wondering what to do.....

Hopefully you can park it in a garage. If not try to cover it. Whatever you do don't take anything apart unless you plan on putting it back on right away. This is always my mistake when my truck is sitting for a long period of tiime

This long block is a reasonable option. For the econobox, used Corollas aren't bad.

I was thinking of going with a rebuilt used 350... would it really be worth it to buy a new engine? oh and my truck is parked under some trees..... it isn't covered because is it parked in somebodys forest, and they don't like the look of the tarps... will it rust really fast? It won't be driven at all.

Have you looked into one of those parking/storage lots where people store their motorhomes and boats? Fenced, outdoor, secure (fenced) parking isn't usually too pricey.

I was thinking of putting the truck into a U-Hual garage.... because then I can rip it apart, and work on it. I have seen many people doing that, but they had little ricer, and tiny mazda pickups. i don't know if my truck would fit.

The ZZ572 is a pretty expensive ($12-15,000, depending on the trim level) big block Chevy crate engine from GM Performance Parts.

That engine does look damn good, but that engine is worth a little under 10 times the price of the truck, hahaha. I am looking for something a little cheaper.... like 10 grand cheaper. hahaha. should I just go yoink one from another truck at the junk yard?
