I blew my 305 out a while back, and when I drained my oil afterwards, it came out like sludge, and the engine just barely rotates when all the spark plugs are out. I drained the rad completely out, and added another 4L of oil and changed the filter. Now I need a car (a little four banger I think, V8's are hoggs on gas, jeez), and I don't know what to do with the truck. It will be sitting all winter most likely. I don't want an auto tranny anymore either. I am just wondering what to do.....

I vote 6.2 and I'd go with a 465.

Bulletproof combo, as bolt-in as a swap gets, and good fuel economy. (relatively)

Buy a 350 crate engine and swap in SM465/ NP205 combo. That would be awsome combo and I think you'd enjoy it.
